Welcome to The Hideaway Cafe & Saloon, a charming gem nestled in the serene landscape of Marquand, Missouri. This delightful cafe captures the essence of comfort dining, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that beckons diners from all walks of life. Whether you're a local or simply passing through, The Hideaway promises an experience that blends rustic charm with heartwarming flavors.

Stepping into The Hideaway, you'll be enveloped by a nostalgic vibe reminiscent of a classic diner. The inviting decor, akin to a cozy dive bar mixed with the family-friendly ambience of a Cracker Barrel, makes it the perfect spot for gatherings, casual lunches, or a leisurely dinner with loved ones. The absence of hard liquor creates a laid-back environment where good food and meaningful conversations take center stage.

The menu is a treasure trove of delicious home-cooked meals that are sure to please any palate. Although the specifics of the menu were not provided, customers rave about the generous portions and heartiness of the dishes. Diners have enjoyed a variety of offerings, many of which are laden with local flavors and fresh ingredients. It's not merely about filling your plate; it’s about a satisfying culinary experience that feels like a warm hug from your grandmother.

Customers have expressed their delight in the dishes served, praising the food for both its taste and value. One satisfied patron, Misty Lee Womble, shared her experience, saying, "The food was delicious... the whole experience was worth every minute we were there today." Phyllis Snyder echoed this sentiment, appreciating the “good home cooking and friendly atmosphere,” a reflection of the welcoming nature heralded by the staff.

The Hideaway is not just about the food; it's also about the community. The friendly demeanor of the owner and staff enhances the experience, making you feel like part of the family. The rural setting adds to the charm, especially during a scenic drive in the Fall. Kurt Mowrer highlighted this aspect beautifully, remarking, “Beautiful Fall drive there and back. Will definitely return.”

Despite some early service hiccups, recent reviews indicate a significant improvement, thanks in part to the new main cook and a revamped menu. Bill Minter noted the enticing food quality, stating, "This time food was great, but service still lacking, but we will be going back." Such testimonials highlight The Hideaway’s commitment to enhancing the overall dining experience.

For those planning to eat in or take out, you can expect awesome food paired with friendly interactions, as Jared Bergeron discovered during his takeout visit. “Will be back and dine in next time,” he assures—a testament to the cafe's ability to draw patrons back for more.

If you’re in the Marquand area and craving hearty, comforting food with a side of friendly hospitality, The Hideaway Cafe & Saloon should be your next destination. Swing by, indulge in their delightful fare, soak in the cozy atmosphere, and discover why so many are falling in love with this local treasure. When first opened last year food was not good for the value of the price and service was not good, this last time we went was because we heard they hired a new main cook and revamped their food menu, this time food was great, but service still lacking, but we will be going back

The visual stimulus of the place is comparable to a dive bar, but the atmosphere, the good cooking and smiles make it more Cracker Barrel like. Drafts in bottles and cans, no hard liquor, so you're not likely to get drunk, but you could have a beer with your meal and enjoy family time.
